Tis the season for spiced everything...including cocktails! This twist on the classic mule is the perfect drink for all of your fall get-togethers.
For the pear simple syrup...
- 1 cup pear juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 pear diced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Grated nutmeg
Combine all the ingredients in a small pan and place over a medium heat and simmer till all the sugar is dissolved. Remove and set aside to cool. When the mixture is cool, strain it into a small jar.
For the cocktail...
- A measure of vodka/gin
- 2/3oz pear simple syrup (according to taste)
In a shaker mix together vodka or gin, pear simple syrup, and ice. Shake well and pour into your favorite cocktail glass (I love any excuse to use my copper mugs). Top it off with ginger beer or Topo Chico and garnish with a slice of pear and a cinnamon stick.
